DON’T LOOK DOWN By Nicky Corcoran’s

‘DON’T LOOK DOWN’ is an updated version of Nicky Corcoran’s book SHINE A LIGHT.

This inspirational book of nineteen poems talks about life-experiences, some of which are personal to the Author herself, from growing up in the 1960’s right through to recent times. The Author covers many a subject such as hormonal changes, bullying and hate-crimes, sexual orientation, sexism, child abuse, mental health, religion.and relevant issues in the world.

The Author also talks about love, compassion, happiness, education, holidays and coming together to care and share our problems, and to keep optimism in your heart and soul.

One thing that is clear is that the Author gives her encouragement and can relate herself and her own life experiences to those of her readers. She understands that sometimes life can be cruel and unpredictable, and the pressures can become overwhelming at times (just like a rollercoaster ride – one minute up, the next minute down).

The Author wants us to develop a certain mindset to prepare ourselves for the challenges that life can throw our way, to come together, join hands and learn from our mistakes, reflect and improve our lives and for future generations. Together we can stamp out greed, selfishness and hate!!

The poems in this book will leave you , the reader with mixed emotions. Some may make you laugh, some may make you sad and may bring a tear to your eye!

ALWAYS REMEMBER, NEVER GIVE UP HOPE, DON’T LOOK DOWN!!

Have you developed the skills and the strength of mind to survive, to become a good role-model for generations to come………………………………………………..?

The book takes readers on an emotional and deeply personal exploration of his struggles, sorrows, and self-discovery. The story starts with Nelson, mired in depression after an event changed his life forever. Every morning, it's a struggle for him to get up as he is plagued by sleepless nights where rest seems nowhere in his reach. Suffering through his mental hardship, Nelson returns to a group of stories that he penned months ago. With each of them he reads, little pieces fall together and a realization hits — you never really poured out the extent to which your pain stretched. Committed to unveiling himself entirely, he realizes that for the story of his enterprise to persist it must touch on each area — even those which may be hard or humiliating matters. Throughout the book, Nelson reflects on the significant people an...

Austin has earmarked the excellence of his literary skills through this exemplary work.   The story begins with the end of the workday at the Perfume Factory, a chemical processing plant, which is described very well with the sounds of the sirens, workers streaming out of the gate, etc.  The miseries and troubles faced by those factory workers are explained in such a way that we could feel the bitterness.
